«Art Jazz Cooperation», international jazz festival, is one of the most famous festivals in Ukraine.  Having started in 2007, this cultural event became unique visit card of Volyn region.

The festival unites not only different kinds of art in the framework of jazz music, but people as well. In the end of the summer Lutsk and Rivne become the center of cultural life and begin festival movement in Ukraine. The dates of the festival match with celebration of a City Day in Rivne and Lutsk, and are traditionally patronized by the mayors of these cities.

Festival venue: Regional Drama Theatre in Rivne and Lutsk Lubart's Castle, the historical landmark of the XV-th century.

The aim of the festival lies in promotion of culture and tourism development, popularizing festival movement, representing Volyn region, and educating youth using the best achievements of world and national art.

Social orientation of the festival lies in support of talented youth from poor families and promotion of Ukrainian jazz musicians.

«Art Jazz Cooperation» was established in 2007. This art event was a continuation of “New Cooperation” festival that took place in Lutsk in 2005.

Since then geography of the festival has expanded and Rivne joined the project. Passion for jazz music united Oleg Bakovsky, Oleksander Trofimchuk and Sergey Gemberg, active public men, who made joint efforts to organize and carry the festival. Over the years Rivne and Lutsk became a hospitable place for for many artists and jazz fans.

Festival events are always accompanied by close attention of publicity and attract a capacity crowd.
Creative plan of the organizers in 2011 is to attract Lublin, Poland, a candidate for the title of European Capital of Culture 2016, to join the festival.

Musical performances and master classes

During the festival days you can visit musical performances of the best representatives of jazz music. Over the years «Art Jazz Cooperation» warmly welcomed musicians not only from many regions of Ukraine, but also representatives of Poland, Germany, Russia, Israel, United States of America and Czech Republic.

Performances traditionally end with jam sessions and “happy hour” or informal communication with the audience. Famous jazz musicians and vocalists make a series of free workshops for the local musicians.

“Jazz emotions” jazz photo contest

“Jazz emotions”, national photo contest on jazz theme, is a competition between professionals and amateurs in representing jazz music in its various aspects. The aim of the contest is to promote jazz music through the visual coverage of jazz gigs, parties, musicians, musical instruments, that show unique atmosphere of this art in different ways.
More than hundred of Ukrainian photographers from almost all regional centers have already taken part in “Jazz Emotions”.  

“Jazz line” graphic improvisation

During the performances of original and talented musicians, besides listening to the music, the audience can also watch, how during musical composition the unique tableau – materialized music, is being born out of chalk and hands of the Artist 
Music, spectators and unforgettable atmosphere of live communication induce gifted artists on the original works of art that have a remarkable demand among the public and musicians.

Choreography. Jazz dance

The language of the Musician is Music, the language of the Artist is Painting, and Movement is the language of the dancer. In 2010 a dancing experiment with the participation of “Light Dance Company”, the first professional dance group in the Western Ukraine, was gratefully supported by our audience.
And this year participation of choreographers in festival events will be traditional and not less than interesting.
